Finally after about a year i’ve got hold of the photo’s from ruths wedding. This one’s quite nice

Managed

So for the past 5 days or so i’ve been desperately trying to get a custom action for our Installer here at work that can work out the root web directory of the target machine and pass it back as a value. (not a hard piece of coding by any means) but the trouble was working out how to get it into the installer… i’ve been down the ally of extening the DotNet installer class, writing metabase edits in C++, but finally i found this site which has allowed me to keep the functionality i programmed in C# and plug it into the installer nativly. RESULT! Once i found that it took me about 2 hrs. so 4 days of nothing and now all done in a matter of hours.

Intro

07:30am

The buzz was pervading, it drifted through into his dream and gave him cause to stir. Rolling over in the slow and cumbersome way that marked his usual waking routine, he opened his eyes just barely, hit the snooze button and realised, “shit, I’m going to be late”.

There was something about mornings that he just hated; The way his body refused to react to his mind, the way his mind took 5 minutes to react to the situations that later on in the day would take a couple of seconds to fire the appropriate synapses, such as this one. With 90 minutes before having to be at work, he’d already resigned himself to being late, this was after all a Monday. He knew that he had enough time to wake; shave; shower; dress; commute, but it all involved more compliance on the part of his body, one thing that was severely unwilling in the morning. The buzz sounded again, this time slightly louder (thanks modern technology). He reluctantly [while at the same time glad] pushed his feet out the edge of the duvet and rested them on the floor. He took a deep breath or two and rubbed his face, desperate for a feeling of being awake, rather than the longing to be back asleep.

Deb Do’s and Deb Don’ts

Wow, after a lot of tinkering and a lot of messing about i finally got World of Warcraft to run under my debian install… now i’ve just got to sort out getting all my UI mods to work again, but everyone’s having the same trouble due to the new patch that just got released.

Rested

Just got back from a fab weekend at Andy and Nich’s in Yarm. Which was great fun, think i proved to be a bad influence on them, with my drinking ways, but was really good to see them both, and to get away for a while. As well as get out for curry and drinks :P Yummy. Here’s hoping this week is ok.

Tiny Birds

Ok so what am i doing getting into the office at 6.30am… MADNESS i’m now the only one here, sat in the semi dark (either one of the light circuits is broken or i can’t find the correct switch!) and listening to the today program while reading the paper.. all in all a rather relaxed start to the morning… oh and my alarm just went off. Turns out the parking outside my new flat is permit parking only, but i can’t get a permit yet as i don’t have the right documentation. So i had to get up and drive my car across london to Brixton (where i know the parking is safe and free) and i had to do it before the congestion charge kicked in. so that’s why i’m up so early

Finally i’ve got debian running with a dual display and my soundblaster audigy 2 platinum pro all set up well. Just have to test if it reboots and make sure it’s not touched my windows partitions. Fun
